Other Associates

Dr. Lyons and her associates see children, families and adults for psychotherapy. Every family and individual is different and we tailor our approach to your specific needs. We use empirically based techniques and treat issues such as depression, anxiety, social skills, bullying, stress management, divorce, learning issues and attention.

We are pleased to offer our exciting Girls’ Social Skills Group for those entering 5th and 6th grades. Please contact Sara Emmerich at 773.244.3151 or info@draoifelyons.com. You can also click here for more information.

PARENTING PERSPECTIVES, a group led by Karen Jacobson, will be again offering the highly acclaimed multi-week parenting course, “Raising Responsible & Resilient Children,” in the old town area. If you have parents who are struggling with parenting issues, are single or divorcing parents, or parents who would be interested in enhancing their parenting tools, then this class is for them. This parenting class is not a dry, boring lecture. With us, parents are guaranteed four fun-filled evenings, replete with humor, camaraderie, demonstrations of parenting situations and skills and LOTS and LOTS of practical, easy-to-implement tips. This small investment of time (8 hours total) reaps HUGE benefits that will impact the family for years to come—all of this at a very reasonable fee. The class can compliment the work you are doing with your clients.

Dr. Lyons assesses children of all ages for concerns such as learning, attention, developmental milestones and emotional. A typical battery of testing will include measures of cognitive functioing, academic skills, attention, memory and language. If needed Dr. Lyons can also visit your child’s school to gain more information about behavior in the classroom. Often times families gain insight into their child’s behavior after understanding their learning style. A full report will include extensive clinical impressions and recommendations for your child. Recommendations will help guide your decisions regarding education, extracurricular activities and emotional growth.

Please contact the Office Manager, Sara Emmerich to schedule an initial appointment at 773-244-3151. If you are calling on behalf of your child, Dr. Lyons will first meet with parents to discuss your goals. For the second session she will meet with your child.
